HUGE UPDATE !!!
Lots of news about Mark and his music! First of all, we can now finally reveal that the next release coming up is a collaboration with none other than Holland's biggest promise for the future of trance, Menno de Jong!
Mark and Menno have been friends for many years and decided to put their heads together to come up with some fresh sounding stuff. And fresh it is. Already receiving two thumbs up by Armin van Buuren, Menno de Jong & Mark Otten - 'Mad World' is going to be released soon on a new sublabel of Intuition Recordings, Intuition Deep. Watch out, coming soon!
Next to that, a collaboration was finished with Fine Taste! Having a great time in the studio with these two amazing producers, things have been taken more to the housey side. Keep checking the site for more info on title, release date, etc.
And even more cool stuff to mention: Mark has just started a new project with Raz Nitzan, Adrian Broekhuyse and Paul Moelands! The first two shouldn't need any introduction, having been responsible for huge bombs like 'The Sound of Goodbye' (with Armin), 'Free' (with Stuart), 'The Space We Are' (with Ronski Speed), and many many more. Paul Moeland is the extremely talented youngster behind the Re:Locate guise. Mark has just moved his studio next to Raz and Adrian's, so let's see what this will lead to! UPDATE AND CONTEST !!!
Things are going very well for mister Otten! His latest remix, The Blizzard - Kalopsia (Mark Otten Energetic Remix), is just out on vinyl and download, after receiving raving feedback from the likes of Armin van Buuren, ATB and many more. It also ended up in the Beatport & Trance.nu top 10, which can be bought here! A preview is now available on this website on the Discography and Audio page.
Next to that, other tracks are still doing very well! Rio Addicts - The Distance is now also featured on the brand new Dancefloor Sessions album by Blake Jarrell, after it was included on the hugely succesful A State of Trance 2007-album. Time Is Serene, the mash-up version of So Serene by Armin van Buuren himself, is still selling and was in the Audiojelly top 10 for a long time! Mind you, we are talking about a track that originally was released in december 2005, almost 2 years ago!!! This is very unique in dance-music...
Meanwhile, Mark is working on new material. A very special collaboration is now being finished, and the results are amazing! More info to follow soon...

MARK BECOMES TEACHER FOR DJ'S AT ROCKACADEMY !!!
We are proud to announce that Mark has been asked as a teacher at the Dutch Rockacademy in Tilburg, the Netherlands. He will teach the students in production, mixing and arranging of electronic music and especially dance. For those who are interested in information about this education, check www.rockacademie.nl. MARK REMIXES FOR ARMIND !!!
After becoming Master of Science, doing the latest Rio Addicts track and remixing S'n'S - 'Conflicts', Mark hasn't rested. A spanking new remix for his home label Armind is now ready to do damage! Labelowner Armin van Buuren personally requested for the Otten treatment of the amazing debut of The Blizzard named 'Kalopsia' which was featured on the album A State of Trance 2007.
The remix once again is an energetic one with techno-influenced beats but still manages to keep a summerish atmosphere. Keep your eyes on this site for a preview! News
MARK GRADUATED FROM UNIVERSITY !!!
MarkOtten.com would like to congratulate Mark with his graduation from Eindhoven University of Technology! This week he turned Master of Science in Industrial Engineering and Management Science. Luckily for you folks, this means he will finally have more time for music again. So who knows what the future will bring... News
NEW RIO ADDICTS TRACK ON ARMIN'S NEW CD!!!
As the really eager types might have already discovered, Mark has finished a new Rio Addicts track! The follow-up to the hugely popular 'Crossroads' has taken a while but makes a pretty decent start: Rio Addicts - "The Distance" is featured on the new compilation cd by mister Armin van Buuren himself, A State of Trance 2007! Already there is a buzz around the track, but it will not be distributed before the release of the cd (18th of May). Our advice is to be patient... and pre-order ASOT2007 ;).
Also, for those who didn't yet discover themselves: Mark Otten & Perry O'Neil - "We're Not Innocent" is now out on vinyl as well as download (Audiojelly.com, Armadadownloads.com, more portals are being added soon)! News
CONFLICTS 2007 (MARK OTTEN ENERGETIC REMIX) !!!
Back in the 90's, superstar DJ Sander Kleinenberg was still making trance. Under the alias S'n'S he (and Stef Vrolijk) produced what is a classic to many. Mark was asked to give this gem an update and the result is here!
S'n'S - Conflicts 2007 (Mark Otten Energetic Remix)
As the original contained a unique sinister atmosphere, Mark kept things dark and tough. The result is a remix that is quite different from some of Mark's other stuff, once again proving that he is skilled in more than one style.
The release is yet to be set. Armin van Buuren is already spinning it so keep you eyes and ears open! |
